Head of D2C Channel

eBrands is looking for a growth-focused Head of Channel to lead our Direct-to-Consumer business. You will oversee a small, agile team of website and growth marketing experts managing all aspects of our global D2C sales channel. In this role, you’ll drive the growth and profitability of our 20+ brand sites through both technical innovation and smart business practices. A mix of creativity and a strong business mindset is key to thriving in this position, along with good leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a General Manager for D2C Operations

  • Own the profit and loss for the D2C sales channel across our brand portfolio, ensuring quarterly and annual targets are met.some text
    • Track and optimize all cost and revenue elements, focusing on overall margin improvement.
    • Develop pricing strategies and promotional plans to maximize profitability while maintaining brand value.
    • Ensure inventory levels are optimized, working with supply chain teams to avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Lead the sales and marketing operations for all of eBrands’ D2C efforts, developing and executing strategies for growth and brand performance. Key areas include:some text
    • Continuously improving websites, landing pages, and product pages to boost conversion and sales.
    • Coming up with innovative out-of-the-box ideas and implementing the latest AI tools
    • Prioritizing customer experience and brand building to support our omnichannel approach.
    • Driving brand awareness and loyalty, measured by increases in organic traffic, returning customers, and customer LTV.
    • Managing marketing campaigns (performance marketing, promotions, PPC, etc.) to balance growth and profitability.
    • Planning and executing strategic and tactical campaigns to achieve key brand objectives such as product launches, sales growth, and inventory management.
    • Regularly conducting experiments and analysis (pricing, advertising, competitor tracking, etc.).
    • Identifying opportunities for expanding into new markets and channels to grow the brand portfolio.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including brand owners, supply chain, and creative teams to ensure cohesive execution.

Lead the D2C Operations Team

  • Lead a team of 4-5 people.
  • Hire, train, and develop team members for D2C-related roles, nurturing internal talent while growing the team to meet business needs.
  • Ensure that the team is constantly making data-driven decisions
  • Encourage and support the team to help them grow professionally

Drive Innovation and Focus on Analytics

  • Identify and implement best practices to boost sales and profit for our D2C portfolio.some text
    • Work closely with teams to analyze data and uncover successful strategies.
    • Stay informed on trends and best practices in D2C to keep the team ahead.
    • Build scalable, automated processes to maximize team productivity.

How Success in This Role is Measured – KPIs:

  • Profit and loss statement for the D2C portfolio, including sales growth, gross margin, and channel EBITDA.
  • Return on investment for marketing spend, focusing on both customer acquisition and increasing the lifetime value of existing customers.
  • Growth of organic traffic, reflecting brand visibility and value.
  • Support for omnichannel sales.

Critical Skills:

  • At least 3 years of consecutive hands-on experience running websites or D2C marketing, with demonstrated growth and margin improvements.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing a large-scale business, preferably eCommerce, with a focus on both efficiency and growth.
  • Proven experience leading teams, with strong skills in motivating and developing people in a diverse, international environment.
  • Strong financial acumen to prioritize and meet business targets.
  • Analytical mindset to monitor insights and drive performance across multiple brands.
  • Enthusiasm for a startup-like environment, with the ability to navigate high growth and some level of ambiguity.
